There is NOT ENOUGH (and by not enough I mean I have never found any) divorced Anidala in modern AU fics (also canon divergent happy fix-it AUs, but for this post we're specifically looking at modern AUs). Somehow every single modern AU fic I've read has Anakin and Padme just happily raising the twins in the background with next to no issues whatsoever, and I am DEVASTATED that there aren't more fics where Anakin and Padme are years out from a really nasty divorce and they've had to fight over custody of the kids and of course Padme won and Anakin gets to have them every other year on the holidays and the occasional weekend. Padme's moved on and is either in a new committed relationship or remarried even, but Anakin's at best has just had a string of one night stands (probably some ill-advised ones in there too) before someone forced him into therapy and he realized he actually needs to not be in a relationship for a while.

Maybe Padme won custody but the twins are primarily being raised by her parents because while she's often away from home for work purposes, she has a large community who can come together to take care of the kids and the resources to keep the kids happy and healthy, while Anakin... has neither (he's likely burned a lot of bridges with whatever family you assign him in this modern AU, whether the Larses exist or if he has a family among the Jedi somehow or both, and he's likely not all that well-to-do financially and CERTAINLY doesn't come across as someone who handles responsibility well).

You could even make it so everyone's still generally happy. No one was happy as the divorce was in progress of course (and likely for a while before the divorce too), but it's been years now and things have settled down and they're fine now. Anakin and Padme are capable of being civil at least, for the kids' sake. But Anakin doesn't want to be a father. He likes his kids well enough, he likes getting to see them every so often and sends them cards and presents on their birthday and on holidays, he calls them once a week to say hi and catch up, but he has no real interest in being a primary caregiver for two young children, with all of the limitations and obligations that come with that. He doesn't LOVE Padme's new partner, but it doesn't really matter since he rarely if ever has to interact with them. He's got a job he enjoys, he's rebuilding some of the bridges he burned with his own family, maybe he travels a lot or something. He's fine, life is overall pretty good. And Padme has the family she wants, a partner who both adores AND respects her, and a career she likes that DOESN'T ask for as many sacrifices as being a politician used to. She's doing great!

More divorced Anidala in modern AUs! It's SUCH an underrated dynamic that no one seems to want to explore!

My third entry for Bucky Barnes Birthday Bingo (hosted by @avengers-assemble-bingo). This time we're getting the Royalty AU with a bit of a fairy tale twist. All of this can be blamed on Halsey's Castle. This story just wrote itself once I listened to it a few times on repeat (not a hardship because I love the song).

It shouldn't have happened like this.

You should be back in your castle, in your old room, where you're loved and cherished by your father and mother. You should be happily trying to get out of your lessons while finding solace in your many hobbies. It hadn't been like your mother and father hadn't doted on you.

It'd all gone so wrong, so fast.

One minute, you had a happy family and a happy kingdom.

The next, your mother was gone.

Your father remarried mere months later.

Your new stepmother turned out to be a real witch, complete with magical powers. She'd used them to banish your father to some place unknown. She'd stripped you of your title and tossed you into the servants' quarters where you were expected to earn your keep. She'd transformed your happy kingdom into a sad and dreary one as she hoarded all its beauty and wealth for herself, leaving none for your people.

When you thought she couldn't do worse, she did.

You found yourself staring into the soulless eyes of one of your oldest and truest friends. A boy now turned into a young man. One that has seen war beyond his years and bore the scars of countless battles. His dark hair hung almost to his shoulders, situated just so one couldn't make out more than shadows across his features.

So transformed himself, you almost didn't recognize him.

Huntsman.

That's what he called himself.

He'd bound your hands tight with rough rope before yanking you off your tiny cot. His steps dragged you from the palace and paraded through all those that served you and with you over the years. Your soft pleas to stop went unheard as he kept going even as you stumbled and tripped behind him. Your shame and confusion not once helping with the matter at hand.

"Why are you doing this, Jamie?" you practically shouted once he'd taken you beyond the castle's gates. "Please, you're my friend. Do you hate me this much? My family?"

Icy blue eyes slammed into yours. His hands jerked at the rope until you stumbled right into him. He didn't let you fall though, grabbing you around the shoulders. Leaning in until your faces were mere centimeters apart, his voice, raspy from prolonged disuse, dripped with desperation, trembling with a shaky breath, "I have no choice, princess. The queen has given me no choice."

His answer rendered you speechless for all of two seconds, snapping back, "We all have a choice."

"Not this time," he said, shaking his head and turning his back to you once more. His hand tugged at the short rope and dragged you onward.

You'd lost track of how long you'd been forced to walk. The sun had been high in the sky when he'd first pulled you out of your room with your hands bound. Now, the sun had started its slow descent at the horizon, the bottom already dipping out of sight. The castle, once so majestic with the sun highlighting it, had disappeared from your sight as you traversed the uneven stones and dirt beneath your feet. The same feet that had begun to ache in such a way that you were certain you'd have blisters from the too-tight and overly worn slippers that adorned them.

It wasn't until the sun had dipped completely, leaving only the softest rays to highlight the area, that this Huntsman, your once-sweet Jamie, halted his steps. His gaze surveyed your surroundings with a keenness that had you scooting closer for fear that something dangerous lurked nearby, waiting to attack at its earliest convenience.

You jolted when a low hum escaped him. The noise so unlike any of the grunts and puffed breaths he'd let loose during your long trek. It took you a moment to realize it was a pleased sound.

Glancing around his broad shoulders, you soon discovered why.

A small band of men blocked your further passage along the roadway. They each had a bearing about them that didn't exactly spell comfort in your opinion, but their presence seemed to settle something within your captor. His shoulders relaxed and his breathing smoothed out.

"Thought you'd be late," he said, his voice gruff as he acknowledged the group. "You get everything I told you to?"

The man in the middle stepped forward, giving you the first real glimpse of him.

It took everything in you not to gasp at the man's appearance, so unlike the way he'd looked the last you'd seen him. The possibility of such a transformation should've been impossible, but then so should an evil queen capable of magic.

"Took us a bit, but yeah, we got it," Steve said, his gaze moving towards you. A grin spread across his face upon seeing what had to be a surprised expression on yours. "Ah, wondered if you'd recognize me, princess. Glad to see you haven't forgotten."

"I've never forgotten a single person in my kingdom," you huffed with an indignant tone. "I'm my father's daughter after all."

Steve's smile softened as he regarded you, nodding. "That you are, princess. Silly of me to have forgotten that."

Silence descended briefly between you all.

In that time, Jamie turned toward you, pulling out a large knife. One quick, efficient strike had your bindings falling away. His gaze met yours through his long strands before he shifted to meet Steve's own curious gaze. "Keep her safe. Take her far away from here. The queen must never know what's happened or it'll be all our lives. You understand that, punk?"

"Yeah, I got it." Steve nodded. "We'll take her and keep her safe, jerk."

Apparently satisfied, Jamie allowed himself a final glance in your direction, murmuring, "Take care of yourself, princess."

"Wait," you said, reaching out and grabbing hold of his jacket, "you're not going back there? Please, Jamie, I just got you back."

The corner of his lip curved upward for a mere second before his face turned almost stone-like again.

A sob threatened to rip out of you as you demanded, "At least tell me we'll see each other again. I can't let you go back without that promise."

His stony countenance cracked the smallest bit, a shaky breath working its way out of him. His face twisted as though he'd tasted something bitter as he promised, "We'll see each other again."

The lie rested between you, but that lie gave you some hope that it could become a truth. You would cling to that lie as long as you could. As long as you didn't have proof that something had happened to him. It would be a lie that would lead to your mission to retake everything the evil queen, your stepmother, had taken from you. It would be the lie that liberated your people and restored you to your rightful place, not as princess but as queen.

James Barnes watched from the shadows as you left with Steve and his small band of men.

He'd done exactly as he'd promised he'd do for your father all those years ago. He'd kept you safe from the clutches of your evil stepmother, and he'd keep doing it as long as he drew breath.

With you safely tucked away, he made quick work of the poor creature needed to complete his subterfuge. If his mind kept traveling back to you and how beautiful you'd grown, he couldn't help it. His hands had long since memorized the movements necessary to carry out his work while his mind wandered.

It took mere moments before he filled the sack with the remnants he needed, hefting it over his shoulder and trudging back the way he had come.

Maybe, just maybe, he'd get the chance to see you again.

Of all the lies he's told over the years, this was the one he really wanted to turn into a truth. He wanted to be by your side as you reclaimed everything you deserved and more.

There is this scene where the queen is having trouble giving birth and the king is asked to choose between the wife or his heir and needless to say the king chooses his child, and it's horrible because the queen is screaming as she is being held down and being cut open and she dies because of the blood loss and shock.

This is a Percy married to a noble man au

What if Percy was pregnant with her first child and it, lets say one of the yanderes I would say Hades because he is the first before any other yandere like Beelzebub second and Apollo third and the last Loki(that's how it was in the last au), but let's say that she is struggling to give birth and the baby is breeched but noble man husband has to choose either save Percy or the baby, noble man knows that the child she is having isn't his but if Percy dies he can remarry and not worry about divorcing her let alone facing her father if she died of 'natural child birthing' and the child he can gladly hand over the child to grandfather Poseidon and no issue(so he thinks).

What if Poseidon arrives when he hears news that Percy is giving birth and once he walks into the birthing room she is in, he sees that she is literally being held down and by several maids and the healer with a scalpel just barely making the first cut on her swollen belly and see the incision is bleeding, Percy looks up at him her face pale with dark bags and with tears and horror filled eyes as she spits out a roll of cloth from her mouth where the maids tried to keep her quiet and screams

"Daddy help me!"

What would happen? How will Poseidon react and how will the other yandere react when they hear what happened to Percy?

I can't imagine the amount of genocide that will happen, all I know is Poseidon will be taking her back to his domain and keeping her and her child who turned out to be a baby boy with silver hair and 'suspicious' purple leaf like markings, where they will be safe and away from others.

he is immediately ordering the nobleman AND every single person working in that mansion/castle to be tossed to tartarus (hades and adamas would happily help with that). then he'd order every single god and goddess of healing (apollo), childbirth, midwifery, etc AND BEELZEBUB OFC to come and save his daughter and grandchild.

honestly, this all could've been avoided if that stupid nobleman just called beelzebub or apollo once she started going into labor but noooo he had to be an idiot and trust some random ass servants 💀

This just makes me picture an au that the Ton sacrifices newbies to keep the Bridgertons happy and the chaos to a minimum. A happily married and in love, Bridgerton will put themselves on a leash and less likely to cause mayhem than a free roaming Bridgerton.

Started with the Featheringtons as like the testers to see if sacrifice will keep the Bridgertons at bay. Give Violet a new friend who has a decent amount of kids to play with the Bridgerton kids. Turns out to be a success now they have a plan for when the kids start entering society.

Berbrooke was supposed to be the sacrifice for when Daphne was in her third season. The ton was getting a little nervous at her three proposal rejections but at least she was still friendly. But Daphne was uncomfortable from Berbrooke and ended up punching him out. None of them wanted to sacrifice Simon, a duke is too good of an opportunity to pass up for their daughters. Some pointed out though that Simon was best friends with Anthony so he was kinda half sacrificed as is.

When Anthony announced that he was going to marry the next season to his brothers it was in public and the rest of Ton immediately began to scramble to find a new sacrifice. The Sharma sisters were ripe for pickings. They were at a risk of financial ruin if one of the girls didn't marry well, so they wouldn't be too picky if Anthony got sent there way. If only that blasted Whistledown didn't write her edition on rakes this season! As amusing as it was they're trying to marry off the Capitol R Rake!

When Benedict was scrambling to find his lady in silver so was the rest of the ton. They saw how enamored he was her, no one knew who she was but she was gonna be the sacrifice! Most breathed a sigh of relief when Benedict got himself married off and moved to the country. They did pitty his bride though, poor girl has no idea what she's getting into.

Colin left the ton puzzled. While he does cause some of the most chaos, he also traveled frequently, and there were some seasons he was barely around or not at all. Some saw his growing interest in Penelope Featherington, but that left them wondering how do you sacrifice someone who was already sacrificed? The ton never thought about long term exposure to anything Bridgerton for the sacrifices because what do you mean they sacrificed Lady Whistledown to the Bridgertons? She was who? Was the creation of Lady Whistledown our fault?

Eloise also made the ton very nervous. They never had to deal with an unattached spinster Bridgerton before. Eloise rejected six sacrifices before, but the ton didn't worry because Penelope was there. But now she's married and what are they gonna do? The ton cried in relief when they heard Eloise got married to a single dad out in the country. No longer their problem.

So Michael was supposed to be the original sacrifice for Francesca when the ton heard the Stirlings were coming to London. They didn't want to give up a nice earl like John and thought the Merry Rake would fit right in with the Bridgertons. But Michael was off in battle, and others pushed to get Francesca married as quickly as possible. So marriage to John it was. When Francesca started wearing lighter colors again stating she was looking to remarry the plan was back on to sacrifice Michael. Best to keep Francesca where she's been and not have to sacrifice another family. They were right, though the Merry Rake did fit in with the Bridgertons.

We already talked about the Targbros being Daemon's sons but what would happen if the girls were Alicent's daughters? Rhaenyra and Daemon get married from the beginning and have the Targbros but Alicent marries Viserys and has the girls, how would that change things?

Oh what a fun question!

This basically ensures Rhaenyra has smooth sailing to the Iron Throne. She has all very Valyrian-looking legitimate children, three of whom are boys, and Daemon is now Viserys-approved as her consort. But more importantly, all her younger siblings are girls. As the eldest, Rhaenyra’s claim is undeniably superior to her sisters’.

Is it possible Viserys never disinherits Daemon? The main reason he names Rhaenyra heir is to keep Daemon from the throne, so it would be counterproductive to betroth Daemon and Rhaenyra while also naming Rhaenyra heir. Maybe in this AU, Daemon never makes the “heir for a day” joke so he stays on Viserys’s good side. Or maybe Viserys decides to codify “daughters before uncles” for the Iron Throne. Either way, Daemon and Rhaenyra’s line is pretty solidly on the throne.

If Daemon and Rhaenyra marry earlier in the timeline, there’s less pressure for Viserys to remarry straight away, though he’s probably still expected to remarry at some point. So he could marry Alicent, but maybe a few years later than in canon. Rhaenyra still probably isn’t super happy about her best friend marrying her dad, but since Rhaenyra herself is happily married and it’s been years (rather than just a few months) since her mother died, she and Alicent probably don’t have as bad a falling-out. Also, Alicent being a bit older before she becomes a wife and mother is better for her mental health.

Aegon is the most spoiled kid in all of Westeros with an adoring mom, dad, and grandpa/uncle who all tell him he’ll be king one day. I think he’s still a frat boy and brat in this universe, but he has way fewer emotional issues so he turns out better…although Daemon might be a bad influence. 😅

It’s Aemond who’s actually Daemon’s favorite. Aemond continues to have a second son complex, but Daemon very much loves his older brother so that affects how Aemond views Aegon. Daemon also is probably coaching Aegon to make Aemond his Hand one day, which is what Daemon wanted to be for Viserys. Daeron is, as always, the beloved baby of the family.

Daemon doesn’t really know what to do with Helaena (like how he treats Rhaena) who is Very Weird, but Rhaenyra would dote on her only girl. Also, oddly, Viserys might actually pay attention to Helaena’s dragon dreams now that she’s Rhaenyra’s kid instead of Alicent��s.

On the girls’ side: they probably don’t suffer as much from shitty parenting as the Targbros and Helaena did in canon. Alicent is a bit older in this AU so she is more prepared to have kids. Also, with all girls, she isn’t worried about them being in danger as potential threats to Rhaenyra’s claim. TBH I think Alicent would prefer being a girl-mom over a boy-mom. It helps that Jace is very similar to her. Luce is wilder but reminds her of younger Rhaenyra. Joff is also Very Weird, so Alicent probably treats her like Helaena: “oh yes honey, very interesting facts about the occult…I guess…”

Viserys never blows up about Otto and Alicent wanting to put Aegon on the throne, so he continues to be an indulgent but distant father. He’ll have the girls presented to him for daily paternal interaction where they tell him about their studies etc etc, and then they part ways. Still not Father of the Year, just Average Westerosi Lord Father.

Otto is definitely disappointed that Alicent has no sons, but he can adapt. He remains the Number One Jacegon Shipper because this is the best and only way he can really get his blood on the throne. Viserys favors the match because it’s good old wholesome Targcest. Alicent gets over her qualms about Targaryen “queer ways” so her favorite daughter (Jace is definitely her favorite) can become queen after her. Rhaenyra, who is closer to Alicent in this AU, likes the idea of their children marrying. Daemon is the only one who might object because Otto Hightower DNA, but everyone else in the royal family overrules him.

Velaryons might bring some interesting drama. Laenor was rejected as Rhaenyra’s husband and Laena rejected as Viserys’s wife, so Corlys definitely wants to get in the game somehow. Assuming Laenor doesn’t have kids in this AU, then his heirs end up being Laena’s kids, Baela and Rhaena, whose father could be the son of the Sealord of Braavos. If Baela is slated to be the heir to Driftmark, there might be some people pushing for her to marry Aemond so they can join the two families for another generation. (They would hate each other, especially if Aemond claims Vhagar after Laena dies.) Corlys might try to slip Rhaena in as a potential bride for Aegon.

Overall, this AU works out pretty well for the Targ family as a whole, but the Velaryons might throw a wrench in things.

How long does she live? Does she take lovers? Remarries? Does Baelon live? Does he become king? What is going onnnnnn!

Anon, I love and appreciate you!💕💕 And I am using this as a prompt to talk about Baelon and my current plans for him within this AU.

Let me preface this by giving my reasoning for why Hedaera survived Baelon’s birth but Aemma didn’t: Daera is perfectly willing to throw an absolute fit and fight and refuse back-to-back pregnancies like Aemma was subjected to. She is very much a spoiled princess and hasn’t really heard the word ‘no’ that often but is very proficient in using it herself and does so with abandon. Thus Daera was healthier than Aemma was. While Aemma had several failed pregnancies in canon, Daera had only one (two years after Daenys was born) and didn’t let Vizzy near her for the next three years.

But now that Heir McSon is here, things can go two - well, three - ways: 

option a) Baelon continues to live and becomes king, there is no Dance and everybody can focus on more important things. Which is nice but also kind of boring so I present 

option b) Baelon does live but not long enough to become King. At the point of his death Viserys is pretty sick and Daera, still grieving, even less willing to try for another child. Like in canon Vizzy is pushed to name Rhaenyra heir to keep Daemon away from the throne until there is another boy (which they just kind of expect and try to pressure Daera into). The game changer here is that both Rhaenyra and her sister are already married.

Because Daera was never given the chance to have any say in her future she is extremely pushy about her daughters having it and Vizzy being kind of uninterested in his daughters until Baelon’s death agreed just so Daera shuts up about it.

So Rhaenyra is happily married to Harwin Strong and Daenys to Tyland Lannister. Jace is already born so Rhaenyra already has an Heir McSon of her own.

and option c) Baelon dies pretty early, before Rhaenyra’s marriage is secured. She is made heir, kind of forced to marry Laenor (to Daera’s displeasure about the forced part and pleasure about the Laenor part) and has her sons with Harwin. tbh I haven’t completely figured this option out yet because it is too close to canon for my taste (also there is no way in hell Daera will let Rhaenyra screw herself and her future over by having such obvious bastards) but maybe I will come up with a nice little twist to make it more appealing to me.

But with Daera alive and unwilling to go through any more childbirths, there obviously won’t be any brothers for Rhaenyra to compete with for the throne so the Dance as we know it won’t happen. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any conflict though.

As of now, I have no plans to have Daera die anytime before seeing her grandchildren grow up happily and know the Realm is moving towards a stable future. And be a sassy grandma in the process.

HotD time travel fix-it idea that's free to a good home:

Rhaenyra dies and wakes up the day that Viserys announced his intention to marry Alicent. Instead of flipping out on Alicent (as seen in some fics), Rhaenyra loses her fucking shit on her dad ("You murdered my mother for a son, and now you would steal my dearest friend as well? Tell me father, how many young girls will die before you are finally contented?") and points out that the only reason he has to remarry is if she's being disinherited. (She may or may not try to stab him à la Driftmark, whatever floats your boat)

After the disastrous meeting, in which Viserys revokes his marriage offer and summarily has a slight crisis over missing the apparent boiling rage growing in his daughter, Rhaenyra goes to find Alicent and try to start over again as the girls they had been only to find out: spoiler alert, Alicent and Sir Criston also came back! Queue Rhaenyra apologizing profusely to both of them for everything she did and trying to make amends.

Alicent, while both shaken and touched by Rhaenyra's rage on her behalf, and extremely thrilled to not to have to repeat everything all over again, is understandable wary but willing to work with her for the good of the realm. Criston of course, still hates her (as is his right) but loves and respects Alicent enough to go along with it.

Key points of this au are:

Alicent gets to find happiness, and she and Sir Criston get closure and heal while staying very good friends; they both get actual, genuine apologies from Rhaenyra, and she does improve her behavior to match

Larys dies. Alicent breaks down and tells Rhae and Criston about everything he did to her (sexually manipulating and extorting her, making her an unwilling accomplice in his crimes, etc.) and the two of them share one singular Look and suddenly he's very, very dead

Sir Criston and Rhaenyra become co-presidents of the Alicent Hightower Defense Squad; neither of them actually like each other (even if Criston can find a way to forgive her, which is a big if) but both of them would die and definitely commit murder for Ali

Rhaenyra finds a way to defer the Velaryon marriage by a generation, and Laenor and Joffrey live long, full lives with each other

Alicent gets to ride a dragon; she deserves it

Albert Michelle was a human scientists along with his wife, Sasha, they both fell in love each other and soon they have a daughter name maya, however Sasha felt a strange sickness and wasn't feeling well, Albert tries to find someone for help to cure his wife's sickness, as they tried to cure her, it was too late, as Sasha was slowly dying, she told her daughter that her friend Emily bellwether (rose's mom) will take care of her and soon that her father will be remarried his wife's friend after her death, few years ago as Albert was still working in playtime co along with his sister Chloe, tho he really misses his daughter since he wasn't there for her, and got a call from Emily that maya got hard relationship that rose complains that she was not her sister, so he asked Chloe to bring maya so she can see him again, as Chloe went to pick up maya, Albert was be shot right at heart by another scientist who became jealous of Albert, as Chloe came to see her brother she was shocked that albert was shot to death, she noticed that one of the scientists did this to her brother, but then, her friend came to help Chloe to bring him back by using parts of a giant toys which was a wuggy part, as they were making a body of him, it was finish as Albert finally wake up and become a giant wuggy toy, Chloe told him that her daughter was waiting for her, so Albert went to see her, until the scientists came to stop them as Chloe tried to stop them but she was push down and was about to be killed by them, but then during the hour of joy, all toys began to attack the employees, as Albert hits the scientists to save his sister, he told her to run away faster as the toys began to attack them, as she ran, she was found by another wuggy toy who was going to attack her, she realized that maya has become a toy by one of the scientists, maya told her to hide while she began to attack the others, Albert was still attacking the human and got surrounded by them, until another wuggy came to attack all the human that tried to kill him, as Albert saw the female wuggy's eyes, he noticed that his wife sasha came back as a giant toy by the scientists, they've had finally reunited together, until Chloe came to see them a told him that maya become a wuggy toy, so they need to find her and soon they'll be happily reunited together as a family

Selyse was born on the island of Tarth in the year 180 AC. Her father was Lord Qarlton Tarth, Lord of Evenfall. Her mother was Lady Jenny Celtigar, daughter of Lord Darek Celtigar, Lord of Claw Isle.

Selyse is the second child in her family. Her elder brother was Lord Quentyn Tarth. She had one younger sister, Alorra Tarth.

Selyse first came to court in King’s Landing in the year 197 AC. She was seventeen accompanying her younger sister Alorra to be presented to the young Prince-Heir Aegon, son of Daemon I. The Prince had just lost his first wife almost as soon as he married her. Lady Rhea Haen of Lys had died of a sickness the week after their wedding. Their wedding was not consummated and was annulled in the eyes of the seven after her death.

Selyse herself was already betrothed to Corlys Tully, the second son of Riverrun. She accompanied her 12-year-old sister to be presented to the Prince, as her father had business to attend to and her mother was oft ill. Prince Aegon took immediate interest in Selyse, though she was five years his senior.

His father, King Daemon I, wished for Aegon to marry his half sisters, but Aegon did not seem interested. After nearly a week of debate with his council and his father, the 12-year-old Prince Aegon made his choice in a bride, as he was not granted in his first marriage. They would not be wed for another three years, but Aegon chose Lady Selyse of Tarth as his betrothed.

The pair wed in early 200 AC. The bride was 20, the groom 15. Ever since that day Aegon was smitten with his wife. They welcomed their only child in late 200 AC. Their son, Aegon, was born. Selyse had terrible complications in his labor leading to infertility and a risk of death if she ever did somehow conceive again. Prince Aegon had no worry, as he adored his wife over any heir. The pair were content and obsessed with their son.

Selyse was a simple Princess. Though never a Queen, they called her Queen because there was no Queen of the realm at the time. She was adored by the smallfolk and her court. She brought a liveliness to the castle that hadn’t been seen since Queen Aemma Arryn. Selyse and her father-in-law King Daemon did not get along, as Daemon thought his son should remarry to produce more heirs. Daemon had even made rumored assassination attempts on Selyse’s life. Once in 203 AC, and another in 207 AC. Both were unsuccessful and the assassins were apprehended by guards and slain by Prince Aegon himself. Daemon even commanded from his tower that he was to “have Selyse’s pretty head on a spike.”

Selyse was quoted as to say “He can threaten to take my head, but he cannot take my son’s.”

Aegon and Selyse lived happily until the year 215 AC.

Selyse was out on a horseback ride with her son and a few guards when she suddenly fell off her horse and wounded her neck. She was complaining of heart palpitations and was sweating with a fever. She was gone by the next morning. Selyse’s neck fracture caused trauma, and heart had gone into failure. During their autopsy they discovered she had smaller heart valves than the normal person. It was a miracle she had lived through labor and to the age of 35.

Aegon was heartbroken. Selyse was his everything and it all came crashing down unexpectedly. His wicked father, King Daemon I, was rumored to have celebrated his daughter-in-law’s death from Dragonstone. The King did not waste time into finding a new wife for his son. He signed off on the marriage certificate thirteen days after Selyse had passed for his son and heir, Prince Aegon, and his daughter with his sister-wife Daena, Princess Daenys. The pair never had a wedding, as Aegon and Daenys were both very against the union.

King Daemon died in 221 AC. The siblings immediately annulled the marriage. Daenys became a Septa, as she always had wished to do.

Selyse was recorded by request of King Aegon II and Her Holiness Queen Daenys Targaryen to be called ‘Queen Selyse’. Though she was never a Queen, she would go down as one in Westerosi History. Nicknamed ‘Aegon’s heart’, Aegon was buried next to her in the Great Sept of Baelor instead of his wife he was wed to when he passed.

Selyse’s son, whom became King Aegon III (canon Aegon V), was Queen Daenerys I’s great grandfather. His reign is where my au becomes mostly canon again.

Oliver's sisters

His older sister is 29 and the younger one 26. They're both booksmart like Oliver (one studied law and the other psychiatry) and very close to each other. They grew upper-middle class. The older one has a cushy job as a barrister and the younger one is still studying. They both live in London.

They live close enough to Oxford that the older one volunteered to be added to his emergency contacts list when Paula started fussing about her baby so far away from home (the Quicks were chuffed). When Oliver privately asked about appointing her primary contact she was moved but alarmed.

They never lived together and saw him only a handful of times a year. This became even less as they grew older, using their studies as an excuse. They were tepid at best whenever Paula and Oliver were involved, and not much warmer about Jeff. Paula didn't want Jeff to pressure them and risk alienating them even more. Jeff himself was a fool for his daughters.

They saw Oliver as a bother and "that slag's child" for a long time, even if they knew he wasn't really at fault for anything. Never wanted anything to do with him until they were both uni age. (12-14 y.o. Oliver)

Several things coalesced around that time, including an incident where Oliver got his arm scar, their mother happily remarrying, them finally having certain conversations with her and each other... Mostly just maturity.

Although they apologized to him and actively started trying, they had their own lives and Oliver was too wary by then and still hasn't truly opened up. All the same, they did connect, mostly through their love for literature, drive, their feelings about Jeff and Paula, and later when the girls advised him regarding uni and career choices. They each have scheduled calls with him at least once a month.

(Oliver will never tell, but it was a conversation with them about "making your own opportunities" that led to him puncturing Felix's tire)

Oliver has incredibly conflicting feelings about his sisters. He admires, resents and envies them. He appreciates their sustained effort to connect and make things up to him, but he can't fully trust it. He can't bring himself to think of them as his sisters neither give them up. He realizes they were kids too but is bitter about getting the short end of the stick.

All three siblings share dimples, wavy hair, a pale complexion and impressive lashes. (Felix feels shivers at the hospital seeing Oliver's gaze on his older sister's face.)

His sisters gifted him his necklace and a few other things once they started trying to get close (other gifts include tutoring for uni exam preparations, some favorite books, a nice shirt that he has since outgrown, a fancy scarf and gloves, tickets to a play...).

He keeps most of the physical ones in a box, tells himself he just can't throw presents away or his parents would ask (Just the once, he ripped apart a book in a fit, ended up crying like a baby, desperately trying to put it back together)

The girls have a good amount of correct suspicions about Oliver's mental problems. They have tried to have "general" conversations around mental health and therapy but anytime things got too close to home he shut down and deflected. Given he seems high-functioning they've focused on showing they're non-judgmental/a safe space and learning how to be a good support system.

They know from experience that talking to Oliver's parents about any of this would be counterproductive.

Oliver was originally planning on spending part of the summer with them to avoid home. They were looking forward to it but were happy for him once they'd asked around and checked Felix Catton was a real, non-psycho person who actually hung out with their baby brother.

in household one we have:

jonathan, joseph and giorno (dio as well, but he isn’t home often)

george joestar & mary joestar have jonathan (25) and joseph (23), but mary perishes after giving birth to joseph. george then meets della (dio’s mother with a made up name because she’s unnamed 😭😭) and they get married.

dario brando passed a few years back, and della was looking to remarry, much to dio’s distaste.

dio (25) becomes step-brothers with jonathan and joseph at a very young age, and that’s also when they find out that they’re going to have a younger half-brother, giorno (20).

in household two (aka cousins of the joestars) we have:

kujo sadao and holy kujo who have jotaro (22) and jolyne (19).

holy is the cousin of george joestar who originally went to japan to study, but met sadao. the two fell in love and had their two kids.

however, tomoko, sadao’s younger sister, had an early pregnancy. not wanting to give up her child, yet having no financial security, decided it would be best to have josuke (21), be under holy and sadao’s care. holy and sadao happily accept.

Some more stuff about the Asterix Hillbilly AU ( which mainly focuses on the Caesaris gens in that AU ) :

. When Caesarion was nearly 3 and about to go to kindergarten, Caesar was stabbed to death by a bunch of his executives AND BRUTUS

. It soon resulted everybody in the Caesaris gens to literally fight over who gets to take chief control of Caesar's landowning enterprise for 2 whole years ( which includes Cleopatra dragging EVERYONE who killed Caesar through the mud in multiple ways, Cleopatra VII managing to get some help from Mark Antony and Lepidus' households, Brutus and Porcia gets thrown to jail, several car crashes ensues, Cleopatra making Servilia go completely destitute and toss her into some asylum in the Carribean )

. Anyway at that point when Caesar died, Octavian was a Harvard business student at those points. But he did help his mom in the whole fiasco of fighting over that landowning business lol

. Meanwhile, Mark Antony and Cleopatra began a years long affair akin to that of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. It was highlighted in the tabloids, they had a messy break up and Mark Antony married Octavia Lidia ( Octavian's 2nd older sister ) on a rebound. Then those 2 soon had a messy divorce and Mark Antony and Cleopatra VII got back together.

. Eventually it soon came to a point where , absolutely enraged at Mark Antony leaving Octavia Lidia, Octavian and Livia Drusilla ( who becomes a business lawyer and originally from London, and is Italian - British ) came to wrestle with Cleopatra VII over the control of that land owning business out of spite.

. On top of that, things are getting heated between Mark Antony and Cleopatra at that point....which eventually resulted in Mark Antony ended up dead in a violent bar fight in San Francisco on a business trip ( much to the dismay of his sibs )

. Realizing things are too dangerous for her kids ( and upon realizing the shocking twist that Mark Antony accidentally let out some of the landowning business secrets to some of Octavian's spies before he died ), Cleopatra and her 4 kids moved out to LA for their safety.

. Anyway, Octavian and Livia became new CEOs of that landowning enterprise. Unlike IRL, Cleopatra luckily DID NOT commit suicide and Caesarion and hisvhalf sibs get to stay with their mother

. Cleopatra never remarried after that - she chose to focus more on her kids ( similar case with Jackie Bouvier after Onassis died )

. Well, things did soon turn out generally hopeful for Caesarion and his siblings. Caesarion got into Stanford, becomes a car racing champion like his father once was, and aspires to found his own vehicle company ( and he eventually did it ).

. Alexander Helios eventually got into diplomacy and later on becomes a member of the US Embassy in Athens International Embassies

. Cleo Selene II got into social journalism and eventually becomes happily married to Juba II ( an oil enterprise heir from Marrakesh, Morocco ), whom she eventually meets in UCLA. They moved to Marrakesh together where they later on inherited that enterprise. And Cleo Selene II soon runs her own ladies' column

. Ptolemy Philadelphus once got contact with a serious fever. Unlike IRL, he did not die at a young age. Rather, he gradually recovers and later on becomes committed to a medical geared path. Eventually becomes a PHD Radiologist who often gives guest lectures to various universities.

. Cleopatra VII was under suicide watch for a whole year after the whole drama which caused Cleopatra and her kids to move to LA. Luckily, she gradually recovers and later on lives a semi retirement life where she continues to be socially active, attending and hosting events and running her cosmetic line and such.

Edmund and Violet: Our monogamy

I still maintain the fact that any au I write regarding the Edmund x Violet x Portia ship the first to fall is Violet. Violet has always come off to me as someone who falls in love fast. Sometimes, she doesn't even know it. That doesn't mean her love isn't true or fickel, she had a more loving upbringing than most, so she doesn't really have that many hang-ups about it.

So Violet falls first, and it shocks her to her core when she has the realization. Not that she fell for another woman, no she's had thoughts about men and women all the time, before Anthony came along her and Edmund used to admire pretty girls together. No what shocks her is that it's her friend, and they're both married. Violet is still happily in love with her husband and Portia . . .well she's not in love per say. But she finds joy in finding new ways to scare her husband. Violet also puzzles because while she is having new feelings for Portia, the ones for Edmund haven't dimmed in the slightest.

Violet consults with Lady Danbury, while not fully telling her, she kind of hints at it.

Lady Danbury rolled her eyes. "That is not unusual girl. Look at all the remarried widows and widowers who still love their first spouse yet also loves the second. Just because it's happening at the same time for you does not mean it's impossible."

Violet blushed, she didn't say it was her having the feelings. Oh well, guess she can't get anything past Lady Danbury.

Violet concluded the next step was to talk to Edmund. But before she could she caught herself and her husband staring a second too long at Portia's chest in her tight black dress. Edmund was shocked at himself when he realized, Violet was relieved her husband also was looking. They can stare respectfully together.

They never did anything while Lord Featherington was still alive because they would never dare to put Portia in a scandalous situation like that. For one she is there friend, and two despite how eccentric the Spanish woman is they're not quiet sure she go for something like that.

Then came the death of Lord Featherington, and Portia said fuck this place I'm going home. Portia packed up herself and her daughters and made sure the Featherington estate could self run with minor need for her oversight before returning to Spain. But she did leave her two friends a set of arras, 13 coins each, made out of silver.

"Keep this as a promise," she told them.

After that the feelings cooled and they honest to god thought they were back to feelings of friendship. It's not like they're completely cut off from their friend she still sends letters.

They were wrong.

Featherington House sat empty for years but then one day servants were spotted opening it up. Whispers began to travel about the creepy family who used to live there who haunted the ton.

Edmund and Violet were having tea and watching some of the servants move about across the street. All of them carried black curtains and dark wooded furniture.

"It's strange, the ton whispers as if a ghost has moved in," Violet commented. Edmund hummed in agreement as he sipped his tea.

"Well wouldn't that be fun if a ghost did move in!"

Edmund choked on his tea, Violet's heart sped up.

Portia smiled at them from the doorway. "Sadly we are not so lucky."

A woman popped up behind from Portia. She was dressed in a dark purple jewel toned dress. "Just us with 12 children."
